Eating a low-calorie diet can be part of an overall weight loss plan that helps us achieve a healthy weight.
What do low-calorie meals look like?
There are several things to consider when we are looking for low-calorie foods. Low-calorie foods ideally range from 150–400 calories. The calorie value is considered sufficient to help us feel full without exceeding the total daily calorie intake needed by the body.
In addition, a healthy low-calorie diet should ideally contain at least 3 grams of fiber and 3 grams of protein or more. While fiber can help fill you up while keeping your blood sugar stable, protein can also help fill you up, prevent overeating the next time, and boost your metabolism.
A low-calorie healthy weight loss plan should ideally contain 8 grams of sugar or less per serving, and 400 milligrams or 140 milligrams of sodium or less.
